    Jagged Edges

I wrote this post a few months ago and I feel I need to share this again.  I know many who are hurting and walking lost and my prayers are with them.  May they feel God's loving arms wrapped around them.

I started out rough with many jagged edges.

Hurting people with these sharp points.

Cuts so deep that scars had formed.

Relationships so severed that hope was gone from ever healing.  If anyone came to close the jagged edges would keep them away.  I did not want anyone close to me because I did not want to hurt so instead I would hurt them with my jagged edges.  I could not love myself so I could not possibly love anyone.  I definitely did not deserve anyone's love.

I felt like I was in a raging river being tossed around.  My emotions going from one wave to another.  I could not stop; the river would not slow down.  I needed to stop, I needed to breath.  My edges, my safety net was starting to go away.  My defense against people, against life was leaving me.  I fought. I fought so hard.  I was not giving up.

    God had other plans.

As I am being tossed around the waves, each jagged edge started to smooth.  Wave after wave, jagged edge after jagged edge.  My life, my jagged life, became smooth, washed away by each wave that created me to be who I am today.  A new being.

As I sit on the shore watching other jagged edges being smoothed. I pray that they will stop fighting and allow the waves to work out the jagged edges.  As I watch I wait.

I wait to see the newly smooth being.

Created from a rock of jagged edges.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

    Tired

    You know what I am?

    I am tired.

    That is it, tired.

    Physically and emotionally tired.

As a military spouse who is preparing for an upcoming deployment, I am tired.  I mean being a one-parent family, who cooks, cleans, takes out the trash, feeds the dog, homeschools the blessings, volunteers at church, does the laundry, pays the bills, brings the blessings to their activities, my own schooling, oil changes in the vehicles, calls the insurance company to replace our truck windshield, shovels the driveway, and shampoos carpets.  I mean who would not be tired? Oh did I mention that can all happen in one day?

Yes, I have my meltdowns and I cry and whine but I pick myself back up.  I cannot stay down.  The devil would love that but God does not want that.  He wants us to rely on Him, to trust in Him, and to have faith.  God has put us in a situation where trusting in Him is the only thing we can do.  Yes, I may be tired but God provides my strength to make it through each day.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
    Philippians 4:13

    I Will Protect Him

Do you ever have moments where you know something is not right or something is going to happen?

Where God is telling you to pray?

That happen to me just recently.

This scripture just kept playing through my head: "Because he loves me," says the lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name." Psalm 91:14
All I could do was trust in God and pray like crazy.

I knew the prayer was to be for my husband so I prayed all day.

I did not know what I was praying for but I knew I had to be in prayer.  I cannot go into great detail but I can say that a gas leak was found minutes (literally minutes) before my husband left.

As soon as I heard about the gas leak and how it kept my husband and the rest from leaving, I knew immediately it was all God.  I kept telling myself "What if you did not pray?" "What if you ignored what God was telling you to do?" "What if..."

As soon as I had those thoughts I quickly released them because there was no "what ifs."  God had put His hand upon my husband because my husband loves Him and He will protect him.

I do not know what could of happen if the gas leak was not found, but I do know that God was watching over my husband and I thank Him for that.

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8

  • check out this week’s “spotlight blog” – Goodnight Moon!

    1.  Where do you blog, and what does your blog focus on?

My blog is called, Goodnight moon. I blog about the military, my kids, random thoughts and things that keep me from sleeping at night. I normally keep my posts lite and fun, but every once in awhile...I'll get fired up and will vent through a blog post.

    2.  What is your biggest blogging goal?

I don't really have a "blogging goal" per say. Sometimes I day dream and think about the "maybes" of what could come from my blog. But in general I just like being able to connect with other people who share the same interests.

P.S...it would be awesome if I could get sponsored to go to a blogging conference one day, but I'll keep day dreaming for that to happen. "Maybe" someday *sigh.

    3.  What is your biggest blogging fear?

A blogging fear? If my blog was to just vanish into the cyber world and I lost all my posts. I would be devastated.

    4.  Has blogging changed you or your outlook on "real life" scenarios?

Yes! 110% Yes! It has taught me lessons and has opened my eyes up about people in general; some good and some bad. It has allowed me to connect with some really amazing women. Blogging has changed my life in ways I never imagined it could.

thanks for joining us, and we hope you make some great new blog friends today!  now, let's get hoppin'!
