Can You Hear Me?

My brother shared this on Facebook and I had to share it with you.  The song is somewhat long but so worth listening too.  Being a military wife this song speaks so true to me and my husband.

There are many spouses out there that will be asking this same question:
Can you hear me?

Please keep our military in your prayers this CHRISTmas season.

Bring Him Home Santa

A dear friend of mine shared this video on Facebook and I wanted to share this with you.  Many children over the years, have asked Santa for this very present.  This video will pull at your heart strings and let me prepare you now...grab some tissues.

Please remember our troops serving overseas and their families.

Blessings to you all!

Our Life is Changing

Time has been flying by fast.  One minute fall is approaching; next it is my birthday.  Six days later we are giving thanks.  17 days later we celebrate our daughter's tenth birthday.  Nine days later I am sitting here thinking how fast time is flying by.  I try to cherish every moment we have together.  We are not guaranteed to be here forever.  It can all change in a moment.  A blink of an eye.  Our life is changed.

I have tried to cherish every moment we have together, as a family.  The four of us.  Every waking hour is a moment treasured.

The joy of watching my husband being a daddy to his children is a moment forever treasured.

Watching my children love their daddy is a moment treasured forever.

A moment that will be etched in my heart forever.

This year as we put up our CHRISTmas tree and decorate our house it was a bittersweet moment.  Tears were shed.

Every year since we have been married we have always had CHRISTmas lights in our home.  Since our two blessings have been little there have always been CHRISTmas lights illuminating outside our home.  This year was no different.

Next year will be.

A moment etched in my heart forever.

A time will come when my family will face a dramatic change in their life and that change is approaching.

Many things happen in life and many of those things we do not have time to prepare.  Cancer. Sickness. Car accident. Death.  All things that can change in a blink of an eye.

My family has a change that is approaching and a change that we have been preparing for, but no matter how long you have to prepare, you are never ready.

After much prayer and much thought I feel that it is time to take a much needed break from blogging and focus on my family.  I will be posting from time to time but this holiday season is very important and precious to my family.

Come January 1, 2011 my family life, as I know it, as my children know it, as my husband knows it, will change dramatically.  Please lift us up in prayer over this holiday season and may everyone have a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year! Please remember our soldiers and their families this CHRISTmas season.

May God bless you all this holiday season!

Precious Tiny Blessing

I could not believe this was happening.

I kept telling myself I was to young and not ready for this adventure called motherhood.

I was terrified.

This tiny precious life was depending on me and relying on me to provide for her.

My husband was so excited and a proud daddy.

I was a terrified, young mother, holding her daughter for the first time.  It was then at that moment I told myself that I may be young and terrified but I knew I could love this precious tiny blessing with all my heart.  I grew up that day, ten years ago, welcoming our first child into the world.

As each passing day goes by, I look at my tiny precious blessing and think of the many lessons she has taught me.  My tiny precious blessing.  My little girl, is truly a blessing sent from God.

This song by Martina McBride is a favorite of not only myself but of Kaitlyn.  You could say it is our song.  So today as my daughter celebrates her 10th birthday, I will celebrate the precious life that God has sent me.  Thank you Lord Jesus for entrusting me with this precious blessing.

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn, I love you Swiss!

Cinderella - Steven Curtis Chapman

For this week of Sings My Soul Saturday I chose a song that has a great meaning to my husband.  Our daughter will be turning ten years old on Monday and like most parents the time has flown by for us.  When this song plays I always catch my husband looking at our daughter and I can tell in his eyes (which usually have a glint of wetness) what he is thinking, "My baby girl."
I believe this song truly expresses the feelings that most parents feel when thinking about their children.  Also, it shows the importance of a personal relationship with a father and not just our earthly fathers but our Heavenly Father.

Look At What I Got

I planned on using my Amazon gift cards that I earned through Swagbucks for my daughter's birthday present.  However, I was going to be charged $78 for shipping and decided not to purchase the gift through Amazon.  So I had a decision to make; what was I going to use my gift cards on?

While looking through the Black Friday Ads, I came across Sam's Club.  Sam's had a wireless printer for $95.78 and I have been wanting a wireless printer for a long time.  I just could not convince myself to purchase a new printer when we had one that worked, which we paid $10 for at a yard sale four years ago.

I decided to look on Amazon for this same printer to see what the price was.  I was shocked to see this printer cost 10 CENTS more and it qualified for FREE shipping! So for 10 cents more I could purchase this printer and not have to pay anything out of my pocket.  I made my purchase on Thanksgiving evening and I received my printer on Tuesday evening; less than a week!

I have not been able to set it up yet and it is actually still in the box but I am hoping to get it up and running today or tomorrow.  Yes, I earned this printer through using SwagbucksHave you signed up today?
